Jasmine Chappell, our dedicated Program Manager for the Adolescent Program at Friends of the Children’s New York Chapter. Jasmine, a Harlem native, has been a vital part of the FOTCNY team for five years, initially serving as an adolescent mentor. Her deep connection to the community and commitment to youth development are evident in her work.
Jasmine’s academic background is in Early Childhood Education and English studies, a double major she pursued at Queens College. This educational foundation has been instrumental in shaping her approach to youth mentorship and program management. With over 12 years of experience in working with children, Jasmine’s expertise extends to behavioral management and counseling, skills that are crucial in her role at Friends of the Children.
Her passion for community service is not just professional but also personal. Jasmine believes in giving back to her community, a value that she embodies both in her work and in her personal endeavors.
In addition to her dedication to youth development, Jasmine has an entrepreneurial spirit. In 2020, she launched her small business, Sweetened by Jas, specializing in personal-sized desserts and treats. This venture reflects her creativity and passion for culinary arts. When not working, Jasmine is often found in the kitchen, exploring new recipes and flavors.
Jasmine’s combination of professional expertise, community commitment, and personal interests make her an invaluable asset to our team at Friends of the Children. Her work continues to inspire and positively impact the lives of adolescents in our program.
