Laura Doe is a fundraising professional who has worked in the nonprofit sector since 2014. With a background in community development, positive youth development, education, and the arts, Laura has held roles including Grant Writer/Manager, Director of Programming and Development, and Associate Director at various nonprofits in the New York Metropolitan area. Before shifting to the nonprofit space, Laura taught music in public and private schools for 15 years.

Laura’s experience in nonprofit fundraising, education, and the arts has empowered her to work with people from all backgrounds and ages, and to gain an understanding of the challenges marginalized communities face. As a grant writer, she has secured funding from various public and private entities, contributing to the expansion of organizational capacity. In her previous role as Director of Programming and Development at the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce, her proudest accomplishments included fundraising, selecting the recipients for, and awarding over $100,000 in scholarships to local high school students, and helping to secure funding for a new Workforce Development program that facilitates employment services for TANF and Safety Net individuals.

Laura is delighted to be working with Friends of the Children NY, and appreciates the opportunity to team up with a dedicated community of professionals to close the opportunity gap for local children and their families. She brings to this role a knack for creative problem solving, a passion for writing, and a firsthand understanding of how program management and grant writing interact for participant success.
