Nancy Parra is a proud first-generation Salvadoran-Mexican-American. She was the first in her family to obtain a soccer scholarship and earn a bachelor's degree. Most recently, she obtained her master’s in Peace and Conflict Studies from Rutgers University.
Throughout her career journey, Nancy has worked in various capacities. Most recently, Nancy worked in the restaurant industry as the Engagement Manager in the corporate office. While at Corner Table Restaurants, Nancy improved the company’s overall accountability system and led the creation and implementation of the company's inaugural DEI plan, fostering an inclusive workplace. Nancy bridged gaps between employees and management, resolving concerns and offering practical DEI solutions. Furthermore, Nancy spearheaded the creation of the organization's inaugural soccer, basketball, and volleyball teams, enhancing teamwork and elevating employee morale.
Earlier in her career, Nancy worked as the Outreach Manager at Girl Scouts, where she passionately engaged with underrepresented communities and worked towards enrolling historically marginalized girls into Girl Scouts. For several years, Nancy also worked as the STEM Coordinator at Clemson University, in the Programs for Educational Enrichment and Retention (PEER) and Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) office, where Nancy focused on recruiting and retaining underrepresented students in STEM fields.
Nancy's expertise extends beyond her professional roles. She recently earned an Executive Certificate in Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion from Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies, honing crucial leadership skills and emotional intelligence for strategic diversity management.
