Reina Onorato

Program Manager

Born and raised in Staten Island, Reina attended Suny New Paltz and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology-Human Services and a minor in Black Studies. After graduating college, she joined City Year, a non-profit Americorps organization devoted to assisting at-risk children’s school performance. For the city year program, she was placed in an elementary school in East Harlem, which is where she first discovered her love for the unique Harlem community.

She has also worked for the New York City Department of Education as well as many other nonprofit organizations that serve youth populations such as the YMCA, Hetrick Martin Institute and Educational Alliance to name a few. She has been working for Friends of the Children for over 6 years and she is very passionate about my work with Achievers and their families and she is excited to grow in her new role as Program Manager.

Outside of Friends of the Children, she is a Zumba and dance fitness instructor and she absolutely loves teaching dance and meeting new people.
