Staff: Tiyana Planto

Tiyana Planto is a new Program Manager here at Friends of the Children New York. She was born in Montego Bay, Jamaica and raised in Kingston, Jamaica. She studied Social Work in Jamaica at the University of the West Indies and a Masters in Child Advocacy and Policy in New Jersey. She has been working with children and families for over 10 years both in New York and Jamaica.

Her passion is advocating for the children and ensuring that a village is provided to help them achieve their goals. Her motto is "Children are the present and the future and should be encouraged to strive for their best self." She is all about fun and laughter and ensuring that happiness is shared with everyone.
