Meet Hunter!

Learn About Hunter’s Honor Roll Moment

Meet Hunter, one of our bright first grade Achievers!

Hunter struggled with behavioral issues in the classroom and disrupted learning environments. This affected not only his grades, but also his relationships in the classroom with his teacher and peers.

His Friend, Henry, stepped in to provide consistent support through mentorship and additional practice in reading and math. Working with his teacher and mother, they worked together on a plan to turn things around. Henry worked with Hunter by building discipline and focus through interactive sessions and incentive-based learning. On each of their outings, they would work on both reading and math as well as working through his behavioral issues he had at school. Over time, Hunter’s classroom behavior improved significantly, allowing him to engage positively with his studies.

Hunter’s bond with Henry strengthened as they tackled challenges together. The mentorship instilled not only academic improvement but also self-esteem and a positive outlook on school.

Hunter’s journey is a shining example of how Friends of the Children empowers youth to overcome obstacles and thrive.
