January 11, 2025 Meet our Friend, Slade! Her Mission to Inspire and Guide Achievers Slade has always felt a deep connection to working with children. Initially pursuing a career in nursing with dreams of becoming a pediatric nurse, life took her on a different path. Though nursing school didn’t work out, Slade’s passion for helping children never wavered. Throughout the years, Slade found herself drawn to roles where she could work closely with young people, making an impact on their lives. When a parent she had previously worked with suggested she apply to become a Friend, Slade immediately felt it was a calling. "I was ecstatic. As I read the job description, I knew it aligned with what I am called to do." Now, five months into her role as a Friend, Slade is thriving. She’s making a difference in the lives of her Achievers, offering them a safe space and the support they need to navigate life’s challenges. "Each Achiever has a different need, no family is going through the same situation. But knowing that I can be someone they feel safe to talk to and help them navigate through this thing called life is fulfilling. Watching my Achievers develop into who they are meant to be is rewarding." Slade’s commitment to showing up as the best version of herself for her Achievers is an inspiring reminder of the power of mentorship.
