Team Friends New York Conquers the 2024 NYC Marathon!

On November 3rd, our incredible marathon team took on the NYC Marathon with grit and determination, running to support youth mentorship programs across New York City. Thanks to the unwavering generosity of our community, we’re thrilled to share that Team Friends New York raised over $25,000! This success means more resources, support, and professional mentorship for young people facing systemic obstacles.

We’re deeply grateful to every donor who supported this effort. Each dollar raised fuels transformative mentorships, educational opportunities, and the chance for our Achievers to overcome challenges and reach their full potential. A heartfelt thank you to all who cheered on our runners, made donations, and joined us in our mission to empower NYC’s youth!

Meet Our Runners

We’re incredibly proud of each of our runners, who put their hearts (and miles!) into this journey. Here’s a shoutout to the team that made it all happen:

• Jeffrey: A long-time supporter of Friends New York, Jeffrey ran his third marathon and raised over $7,000—our highest fundraising amount this season. Thank you, Jeffrey, for your commitment and accomplishment!

• Sam: Running his first marathon, Sam finished in just under three and a half hours—an impressive feat! We’re grateful to have him as part of Team Friends New York.

• Sahil: A dedicated Leadership Council member, Sahil took on his first marathon this year. We appreciate his dedication to our mission and his active role in supporting our community.

• Chuck: When we had a last-minute opening on our team, Chuck stepped in to fill the spot and hit the ground running—literally! Thank you, Chuck, for joining Team Friends on short notice and making it to the finish line!

Special recognition also goes to Drew and Andrew, two of our team members who helped raise critical funds for Friends New York but couldn’t race this year due to injury. We’re incredibly grateful for their support and hope to see them cross the finish line in next year’s marathon!
