Sharing Gratitude at the Family Giving Event
A Dinner And Food Giveaway That Celebrates Community And Care
This Thanksgiving, we hosted our second annual Family Giving Event, bringing Achievers and their caregivers together for a celebration of gratitude and community. The event was split into two parts: a festive family dinner and a weekend food giveaway, each designed to support and uplift families during the holiday season.
The first part of the event was our Family Thanksgiving Dinner, where about a hundred people came together to share a meal and time with one another. From the moment the doors opened, the room was lively. Friends (Mentors), caregivers, and Achievers connected with one another and shared in the simple joy of being together. The dinner was a meaningful opportunity for families to enjoy good food and strengthen the bonds that support them throughout the year.
The celebration continued over the weekend with the Family Giving Food Giveaway, ensuring families could enjoy Thanksgiving at home. We distributed 70 turkeys, thanks to the generosity of a community member. We also gave away 80 food bags that provided additional essentials for holiday meals.
Bringing the Family Giving Event back for a second year allowed us to build on the joy and connection of last year, strengthening relationships and creating lasting memories. From caregivers who show up every day for their children to community partners who make moments like this possible, the event was a powerful demonstration of what happens when generosity meets intentional support. As we look ahead, we are already excited to continue this tradition, ensuring every child and family in our community feels supported, not just at Thanksgiving, but all year long.
