Holiday Magic at the Museum of Ice Cream

A festive evening hosted by Paul Hastings

Earlier this month, Friends of the Children — New York kicked off the holiday season with a truly magical celebration at the Museum of Ice Cream, thanks to the generosity and partnership of Paul Hastings.

Museum 3

With all three vibrant floors of the museum reserved exclusively for our community, nearly 150 Achievers, caregivers, staff, and partners stepped into a world filled with imagination, laughter, and joy. From the moment they arrived, our youth explored immersive installations, climbed playful structures, raced down the longest indoor slide in New York City, and sampled ice cream flavors at every turn.

For many Achievers, this was their first visit to the Museum of Ice Cream, and the sense of awe was unmistakable. Laughter echoed through every room as kids ran from activity to activity, discovering something new around each corner and soaking in a space designed entirely for fun.

To make the evening even more special, the celebration featured hands-on activities and entertainment throughout the museum. A face painter transformed children into festive holiday characters, while a balloon artist delighted them with colorful creations they proudly carried all night long. Cookie decorating, arts and crafts stations, and a warm meal provided by Sweet Chick created moments of creativity, connection, and comfort amid the excitement.

Museum 2

The evening concluded with two heartfelt surprises. Each Achiever received a personalized holiday gift provided by Paul Hastings, thoughtfully selected based on each child’s age and interests—making every gift feel uniquely their own. In addition, every attendee, children, staff, and partners—received a special swag-filled goodie bag generously provided by the Museum of Ice Cream, ensuring that everyone left with a smile and something sweet to remember the night by.

This unforgettable celebration would not have been possible without the exceptional partnership of Paul Hastings, and the leadership and commitment of Lauren Brooten, Dan Fliman (Board Member), and Travis King (Leadership Council), whose dedication to our mission helped bring this night to life.
